All For Nothing

Well, we are NOT on our way to LR right now. Regan has an ear infection and possible strep throat and Kennedy has a double ear infection. So, the dress rehearsal was all for nothing. I am going to buy the Pink Panther cd and invite everyone over for Regan to have her own dance recital. :) Good times, good times!

My angel, my nurse, my friend

On the morning of February 25th our lives changed forever. Not only did our lives change, but several other people's lives changed as well. One of those was my nurse Jessica's. She had no idea what she was getting into when she got up for work that morning. Between shifts the nurses go through and read reports from the night before about the patients they have. Well, obviously our case was a hard one to take on, but Jessica did. She volunteered to take me that day. What an amazing person she is because of that. Who walks into that kind of situation? I am so blessed to have gotten to know her. She did a wonderful job on that day. She took care of me and Carter in a magnificent way. I am so glad that God put that on her heart that day. I could not have imagined being with anybody else, or to have my son taken care of by anyone else. Thank you, Jessica! You have a special place in our hearts forever. (And a never ending friendship that you didn't know you were getting into.) :) We love you!!

Dress Rehearsal...Really?

The girls and I drove to Arkansas on Tuesday. I was informed by her dance teachers that "we really need to be at the dress rehearsal". Dress rehearsal? Is that really what it's called? (I'll get to that in a minute.) So, we got up early and was on the road by 7:30. Oh so fun! Then, we stopped to eat lunch with my friend Jessica at Larry's Pizza. That was crazy madness! The kids wanted to play and play, which was great. When it was time to go we had a melt down...go figure. Kennedy broke Regan's toy that she "won" and she proceeded to slam her around. After we left there we stopped to get some boxes from a friend. Thanks Cameron!! Then we were off to get a few things from the house. When I walked in the house I just wanted to break down. Oh the overwhelming emotions!!! So, the girls and I just got a few things and then we got dressed and were off to the dress rehearsal. Well, we were a little lost on where to go. No instructions on how to get to the rehearsal hall, and no directions on how to get where we needed to be once in there. Great!! So, we finally found it. Regan's group is the first to go. So, they get up there, do their dance, and then it comes. "Alright ladies. We'll see y'all back here on Sunday at 1:00 in the dressing rooms." That was it!!! A dress rehearsal? That was it!! I drove all that way just because I had to be there!! Oh! I am so mad!! Then, we get back to the car and get on the road and come home....to Texas!! It was a crazy, insane day. At least I got to see Jessica. :) And the girls did VERY GOOD going back and forth. They were so worn out they slept for about two hours. So, we'll be going back on Saturday for her dance recital on Sunday. Fun, fun, fun!!

Strength Will Rise As We Wait Upon the Lord

A few days ago I was straightening up the house and I had the radio on. A song came on. It is called Everlasting God by Lincoln Brewster. It is an amazing song that I have heard over and over again. I have always sang along to the words, but today was a different day. Today it hit me right between the eyes...or right in my heart. I was having a wishy washy day of emotions. Everything is so up in the air and not so settled (which is not how I like it at all), so it was tough. Then I realized...the strength will rise if we do wait on the Lord. Oh what a new meaning that song has for me now! We have been through SO MUCH this year, but God has given me strength. I am waiting on the Lord to give us answers, to help us to sale our house, to give us directions on what to do next...and my strength is rising because I am WAITING on Him. It's not in my time. It's in His time! What a wonderful message. Think about it the next time you are waiting and are not given an answer at that moment, or don't hear from God on a prayer when YOU want it. He is there. Just wait. He'll show Himself to you. He is everlasting!

Everlasting God lyrics:
Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord
Wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord
Wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
Our God You reign forever
Our Hope our strong Deliverer

You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint
You won't grow weary
You're the defender of the weak
You comfort those in need
You lift us up on wings like eagles

You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
The everlasting God
The everlasting

Carter's Bench

There were several people who didn't send flowers for Carter's funeral, but they wanted to do something so they sent money for donations to different charities, churches, etc. My grandparents, aunt, and uncle asked me what I wanted. I decided (before I knew we were coming back to Texas) that I wanted a bench for my garden with Carter's name and date on it. That way if we moved I could take it with me. So, this is what I picked up yesterday.
I haven't placed it in the flowerbed yet. I just need the right spot. Those are his actual tiny footprints. I love it!!

Sponge Rollers

Regan is always interested in "is that the way it was when you were 4 years old?" She always wants to know how we did it or what we did when we were younger. So, she was asking me about curling her hair and I said we should get some sponge rollers. She of course replied, "Is that what you used when you were 4 years old?" I told her that my mom always rolled my hair in sponge rollers. So, we went to Target and got some and rolled their hair that night. It was quite a treat.

So, cute. This is as far as Kennedy's hair got. By the time we were laying down for bed she wanted me to take them all out. Regan's hair looked so cute in the morning. I am sure we will have many more sponge roller moments to come. :)

Bicycle Beauties

With the weather being so nice (yet so hot), it has been so great to get out of the house and play. The girls are loving riding their bikes. That is their request everyday after nap time. :) They are both very good. I keep trying to get Nathan to take Regan's training wheels off. No luck yet. I'll let you know when we do.

Girls' Weekend

This weekend some "girls" in Nathan's family and I went to have a girls' weekend. I only went for the day. That was way enough for me. I can't hang. :) We took off on Saturday morning out to Grapevine for the festival. We did a lot of shopping and a lot of eating. (Always my favorites!) Then everyone went back to the hotel to lay out by the pool while I went to get my nails done. They were in desperate need of help. Then, we went and got dressed and went to dinner. Later I took them to the Glass Cactus and I headed home. It was so nice. There were many times when I was laughing so hard that I couldn't breathe. It was so FUN!! We need to plan a trip next year!

Family Fun

This Sunday we had SEVERAL (30 or so) people over just to hang out and have some "family" time. It was so nice to just relax, enjoy, and let the kids play. It looked like an amusement park in our backyard. We had a water slide, a slip and slide, a kid pool, and a bounce house. Crazy! It was great to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones. We'll have to do it again real soon!

Get Cozy!!

Since my computer has been in transition I haven't been able to blog. I was dying to do it today. So, get cozy. You have 8 more blogs to go. We've been BUSY!!! Enjoy!!

The Sign

As of Thursday, May 8th our house officially had a sign in the yard. As most of you know, or some may not, we are moving....yet again!! :) We are heading back to Texas. Nathan is already working there and the girls and I are going back and forth for now. (I know...CRAZY!!!) We are now in a rent house until our house sales (I think this is de ja vous.) :) So, if you know of anyone that wants to buy a house in Arkansas...Little Rock to be exact....LET ME KNOW!! :) Just so you know how crazy Nathan is...in the 7 years we've been together, we have moved TEN times!!!!! Eleven is still to come once we are out of this rent house. INSANE!!!!

Mother's Day

As I'm sure you know this mother's day was not quite the same for me. It was so VERY hard. I still want to just weep thinking about it! I am truely blessed to have my girls in my life and my angel in Heaven. Here are my girls and my nieces for mother's day.

Concert by the Lake

Every Thursday night our hometown has a concert by the lake series. They have bands that are great!! You just bring your lawn chair or blanket, food, drinks, etc. The kids can just run and play and dance. It really is a good time. This was the first one of the year. I'm glad we were home for it.

She is not shy by any means. :)

Beautiful eyes!!!

Running a muck! :)

Mother's Day Tea

Every year the girls' school has a Mother's Day tea. It is so neat to see. When I got to school that day I was so surprised at what I found. Each of the kids were serving their mother lemonade and muffins. And they had such a sweet little card and gift to go with it. It made my day!

Swim Lessons

The girls are taking swim lessons at the athletic club. This is Regan's second year. She is doing really good. She is just trying to remember all that she learned last year. This is Kennedy's first year. I don't think she quite understands what it means to not swallow the whole pool. :)

Jump 'N' Jive

We went to Texas the first weekend of May to celebrate my nieces birthday! Happy #4, Lauren!!! The kids had a GREAT time!! They went to Jump 'N' Jive and jumped, ran, slide, and jumped somemore until their hearts content. Regan's poor little face was so RED!!!

Hannah Pannah, Lauren (the birthday girl), and Reggie

My daredevil!! :)

The girls!!

Regan's "Un" Birthday

When kids at Regan's school have a birthday they bring little treats for their class. So, since Regan has an August birthday we don't normally get to do that. Thanks to Ms. Denise she always includes the kids with summer birthdays. We took cupcakes. Regan requested ballerinas for the girls and bats for the boys. Thanks to Kelley Edwards for the delicious treats!!

Happy "Un" Birthday, Regan!!!

Arkansas Traveler's Game

A few weeks ago (April 30th) some friends of mine and I took our kiddos to the Arkansas Traveler's Game. It was "Kids" day at the game. How fun!! Little did we know that we would be setting the record for the most attendees....10,000!!! There were school buses and kids as far as the eye could see. Before we even got into the game I told Ally that I probably would only end up going to the bathroom and standing in the consession stand lind forever. That is exactly what happened. It was fun and the kids loved it!! Thanks girls for inviting us!!

The Gang! :)
