Spring "Break"...Day 5

Today is the last day of spring "break". We met up with some girls from Sunday school to go to Jumpzone. Little did we know that everyone else had the same great idea. :) Ha!After running, climbing, avoiding nose bleeds, getting stuck, jumping, running, climbing, and more jumping, we headed to Mickie D's for a good ole' lunch. That was an adventure within itself.

I am glad that spring "break" is over. I think the girls are too. I really think they like their routine...especially the naps. :) It was a fun and adventurous week! I can't wait to do it again!

Spring "Break"...Day 4

Thursday we had a long, fun filled day. We traveled to the Memphis Zoo with our friends Marieca, Laura Kate, Deena, Lauren, and Harrison. (We invited ourselves, but they didn't mind.) :) We left around 8:45 and got to the zoo around 10:45. I did check the weather for the day before we left, but the weather did not follow through for its part. It was supposed to be partly cloudy and warm. Well, let's just say that Marieca and I are now proud owners of "Memphis Zoo" sweatshirts. Something I've always wanted. After we warmed up we were off to see what was in store. We found out a lot of information about different animals. If you see Marieca ask her about her flamingo knowledge. Also, do you know why penguins are black and white? They are black on the back in case there is a predator above them they will think it's the ocean floor. If the predator is below them looking up they will think it's the sky. God is pretty clever huh? Regan got to get up close and personal with the polar bears. While Kennedy took a little snooze in her stroller. (Poor baby!) After seeing lions, monkeys, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, hippos, tigers, orangutans, pythons, bats, and much more we headed home....but not without some excitement. I did not even make it to the highway and I got pulled over. I was doing "49" in a 40, but he was SO nice that he only wrote it for 45 in a 40. Thank you Mr. Police Officer. :) THEN, we headed home. It was a LONG day, but well worth it.

Spring "Break"...Day 3

Today we went to the Museum of Discovery in downtown Little Rock. It was a pretty cool place. There were rooms to where the kids could go in and be hands on. Regan loved going into the room with the "newborn babies". I asked her if she was going to be a nurse, and she said no she was going to be a veterinarian. She does good either way. :) The girls got to "ride" a cow. Then, we went to another room where they had a dentist chair, a huge set of teeth, and dental equipment. The girls loved playing with that which is funny considering Kennedy HATES to brush her teeth. After several more rooms of dinosaurs, sharks, Indians, mummies, and more we headed off for lunch at Larry's Pizza. The girls (and moms) ate some good ole' cheese pizza and played a few video games.

Spring "Break"...Day 2

Tuesday Allison and I took the girls to see "Horton Hears A Who". It was such a cute movie. We had the traditional popcorn, coke, and candy (which I gave my arm and leg for in addition to the other arm I had already given for the movie tickets.) It was such a good movie. Kennedy did not do so good sitting in the movie, so we will definitely need that one when it come out on DVD.

Spring "Break"...Day 1

This week is the girls' spring "break". Why do they call it spring break? Most of the time you are trying to do so many things that you don't get to do while school is in. Then, you really are in need of a break at the end of Spring "Break". So, since Monday is religiously a laundry day, that's what we did....laundry. (We really do have a fun week planned--just keep checking back to see.)

Easter Weekend...busy, busy, busy!

We had quite the busy weekend. Friday night Cobie, Craig, Lauren, and Ella came up to visit. It was so nice to let the girls play. Saturday morning we got up and went to our church's annual Easter egg hunt. We got to see the Easter bunny while we were there....that was quite an experience. (Some people don't know what forming a line is--a whole different blog topic.) :)

Then, we went home, ate lunch, took naps, and got up to play some more. After dinner that night the girls decorated Easter eggs.

The next morning we woke up to find that the Easter bunny had brought the girls some wonderful surprises.

After going through their Easter baskets we took a few quick pictures of the family....

Then, we were off to church. That was quite a task. :) After church we came home, ate a wonderful lunch, and took naps...if you want to call it that. Then, to finish off our Easter festivities, as if we hadn't had enough, the girls hunted Easter eggs in the backyard.
We are recovering today by doing laundry and taking naps. Fun, fun, fun!!

Easter Bunny & Easter Parties

Yesterday I went to the girls' school for their Easter parties. It is always so fun to run back and forth between classrooms. :) I got there just before Kennedy's class did their Easter egg hunt. They were all dressed like rabbits. SO CUTE!! Happy Easter!!

The Mohawk

It is interesting the people that God puts in your life...whether they know you or not. When Carter was born we had a WONDERFUL nurse, Jessica. You know how every baby gets the little white t-shirt? Well, Jessica made Carter's t-shirt a muscle shirt. That totally fits his dad's personality. Then, when we were at the funeral home the guy getting him ready gave him a mohawk. It was so cute. So interesting how each of them didn't even really know us, and yet they did something that was so fitting for our personalities.

I'm on the "LIST"!

The other day I was upstairs doing something for Nathan on the computer. When I finished I thought everything/everyone sounded awfully quite, so I went downstairs. Regan was watching TV and Kennedy was no where to be found. I thought she had gone outside in the backyard...no. She had climbed up on the kitchen counter. There I found that she had taken not one, not two, but three of my birth control pills. Yes, I know...I win mother of the year award. I don't know that she actually took them. They could have gone into the trash or down the sink (both were close by). So, I called the pharmacy and they suggested that I call poison control. So, I did. I KNOW I'm mom of the year in their book. They did ask for my name and zip code. I am now officially on the POISON CONTROL list. They said she'd be fine and she was. I did move all the medicines away from any place that she could get a hold of them. Like I always say....NEVER a dull moment.

A New Olympic Sport...

Today is quite the opposite from last week...no snow, very warm, and BEAUTIFUL!! So, when we got home from gymnastics the girls went outside to play while Nathan and I made lunch. While eating, I looked up and Kennedy had taken all of her clothes off...ALL of her clothes off and was jumping on the trampoline.

Friday Night Fun

Last Friday night a friend of ours came over to hang out for a little bit. He was quite the entertainment for the girls. He thought he could hang, but little did he know that the Purnell girls have their dad's energy times TEN!!!! Needless to say, he had to give up before they even thought about it. Thanks Chad!!!

Snow

As you all know it snowed here last week. On Tuesday the snow was so wet that we didn't even play in it. By Thursday the girls were disappointed that they hadn't gotten to play in it. So, before Nathan went to work he said he'd play with them. Well, that lasted all of 15 minutes. They wanted to come in because they were too cold and wet. It was fun while it lasted.

Where Do I Begin...

Where do I begin? I want to thank everyone for their loving support during the most difficult time of our life. All of the phone calls, food, cards, emails, letters, flowers, etc. are so appreciated. We are overwhelmed with the love and support that we have. It is still a daily, and sometime minute by minute, challenge. So, continue to pray for us.
