Bowl A Rama

Today Regan's and Kennedy's cousin, Ashton had his 6th birthday party! He had it at Bowl A Rama. It was awesome! I think myself and Nathan were more pumped about the kids bowling than the kids were. They had a great time!!! :)

A LOOOOOOOOONG WEEK!!

This has been the longest week! I am so glad that we have Monday to continue to recooperate! My house is SOOO dirty! I am embarrassed! :) So, Monday will be straightening and laundry day! So, one week down, and many more to go!!

Soccer

Regan is playing soccer with the church this fall. She has been begging me since last fall to play. It is non-competitive which is nice for two reasons. 1. in case she doesn't like it or 2. she is no good. Well, she proved the second one to be wrong at practice this week. She is quite skilled I must say. She can run and dribble (don't know if that is soccer lingo) the ball down the field and score. She does drils really well, AND she looks so darn cute!!! :)

8:30

Enough said. Poor baby.

First Day of School, First Day of School

Oh how they grow!! It just breaks my heart. We took Regan to Kindergarten this morning. I just can't believe that five years have already come and gone. The night/early morning that Regan was born we called some close friends of ours to tell them that she was here. While Nathan was telling them the great news she was screaming in the background. Here is how my friend summed up today's emotions, "...Didn't I just get a message on my answering machine with her first little cry in the background?!..." So true!! She was such a big kid walking in there. She didn't cry, whimper, or flinch. I did though. One teacher said, "We are having a 'Boo-Hoo Breakfast' in the cafeteria if you would like to go." Ha! I couldn't even hold it together long enough to get out the door. That's my baby. And always will be! I love you Regan Kylie!!

I did have a moment that I'll never forget (Regan doesn't remember it. Thank the Lord!) I pulled out her chair this morning so she could have some room, and right when I did she sat down...fell down is more like it. Nathan said, "Great going, Mom. First day of school way to embarrass her." Nice!! Nathan keeps telling me that she was in shock from starting a new school and so were the other kids that no one noticed. I'll take that and run with it. :) So, the following picture is of Nathan picking her up and putting her in her chair. She did laugh it off. I am scarred for life though. What a horrible mom. :(

(See, she did recover.)

One day down and many more to go!

A Day of Many Emotions

Today was a day filled (and still filled) with many emotions. Many first things happened for us today. 1. Today my baby went to Kindergarten. (will post more on that later.) 2. I started back to work. :( 3. And the one that is the hardest is that I have lived for 6 months without my baby boy. It just crushes me each day. My heart aches to just be able to hold him again.

I got many emails and text messages today and I thank you for that. It really helped boost me (as much as I could be on a day like today). I got one email from a friend whom I have only known for a short time. You see, this friend lost her son 9days before we lost Carter. We were connected through some friends. Though we have never met, I consider her a dear friend. We talk by email all the time. Together, we are embarking on all new kinds of things in life and sharing every minute of it with one another. I just wanted to share with you what she emailed me today. It was so wonderful and right on.

"...I know you are at work today so I will keep this one short. I just wanted to let you know that I am praying for you today. I know today is Carter's 6 month birthday and I will be thinking about him today. I think you deserve a big hug today because you did it....you survived 6 months. And for those that don't know what this feels like, they won't understand what an accomplishment this is, especially when we thought we wouldn't make it 6 minutes much less six months..."

So true! Thank you so much Melissa and everyone else who thought of me/us today. We continue to covet your prayers. They are much needed daily!!!

Kennedy's 3rd Birthday!

Kennedy turned 3 yesterday! Wow! How time flies!! My baby is growing up!! Since she is such a ball of energy we had her birthday party at ASI. A perfect fit for her and her energy. We/she had a great time! Thank you all for coming and making it a special day!!

Jeep Ride

While Kennedy was sleeping on Saturday Lindsay, my sister, came over and took Regan to Mims' house. Well, when Kennedy got up she was not going to have only Regan getting a ride in Lindsay's jeep. So, Lindsay came back to the house and took them both for a ride. They loved it!! Thanks Aunt Linds!

What a Week!!

This week has been insane!! I don't really see how two working parents do it. I have been in meetings ALL week! I didn't get home until after 8 three nights this week. I have missed my kids terribly. I hate leaving in the morning. And three days this week I didn't even get to pick them up (hence the meetings). So, pray that our life will become routine to us.

On a positive side, we got to go up to Regan's school last night and meet her teacher. I am very excited about her. Nathan and I went to high school with her (Nathan actually went to elementary with her too) and she is so sweet. She said she was wondering if it would be us when she saw Regan's last name. She said to Regan, "Now, I sure hope you don't act like your daddy did when he was in school." Ha! Ha!! Oh, that poor reputation that proceeds her. I hope it's not all of her school days. :) I will post pictures of my room when I remember to take my camera. I know I'll for sure have it on Monday since Regan starts KINDERGARTEN!! I am so emotional just over that alone.

***In case you were wondering laundry days will now be moved to Saturdays. :)

Family Vacation

We are back! We had a wonderful and relaxing time. It was a very emotional and hard time to be there without Carter. We did our best and had a great time with each other and with the girls. Here is a slide show of all the fun we had!

***I start work tomorrow, so just say a little prayer for me and a big one for the girls!!

Destin

We leave tomorrow night for Destin. I am having a real hard time with it since Carter should be there with us. My heart just breaks since he won't be experiencing the sand for the first time. I won't have to worry about how much sun he's getting. Etc. He just won't be there! That's so hard. So, please just pray for my family that we will have a good time and enjoy a much needed vacation and our time together.

6th Grade English

Well, I will now be teaching 6th grade English (which is what I used to teach), at the same school, in the SAME room! Pretty cool, huh? I am so excited! I went up there yesterday and worked on my room. (I'll post pictures later.) Just wanted to update everyone.

Hilton Bella Harbor

This weekend we celebrated Regan's 5th birthday! We had seven little girls come to the hotel and they had a slumber party. It was so much fun! They swam, ate pizza, had cake, opened presents, got their nails done, watched a movie and ate popcorn. It was such a treat. I had a great time too! Thanks girls for making Regan's birthday so special!

After our fun, exciting night we had two more birthday parties to attend. This is the "Dress Up" party for Hannah. They all looked adorable!
Hannah G. had a "Tony Romo Chuck E. Cheese" party. Chuck E. actually wore the Romo jersey. Pretty cool!

We were worn out and took a 3 1/2 hour nap. We needed it!!
