Mule

Every year, twice a year, the "car guys" have a HUGE sale called Car Wars. It's where all the car dealerships in Pulaski county come together at War Memorial Stadium and sale cars. Well, that is where Nathan has been since Wednesday!!! Fun, fun, fun!! We went up there on Friday to see him. While we were there I had to take the girls to the bathroom, so they got to ride on the mule. They were so excited. So, Nathan said that he would bring it home on Monday night and they could ride around on it. After trecking through the neighborhood, through the woods, and up the mountain, it was the neighborhood kids turn.

WOW!! Mr. Nathan is SOOOOO COOL!!!! :)

High School Musical on Ice

Nathan and I took the girls to see High School Musical on Ice on Sunday. It was such a great time! Regan and Kennedy were both just singing along to all of the words. Regan wanted to talk to Sharpe, but she was a little busy. :) All in all we had a GREAT time! We only ended up with dinner (no telling how much), two light up toys ($18 each), and a bag of cotton candy with a HSM hat ($12 each)!! Good times! Good times!!

Pajamas and Junk Food

We had a girls' night out last night. It consisted of pajamas and junk food!! Yea!! A lot of talking, eating, takling, eating, and eating some more. There were cookies, popcorn, brownies, a salad, sandwiches, salsa and guacamole. It was so nice to let the dads have the kids and have some "me" time.

Kennedy's Fieldtrip to the LR Zoo

She was so excited! All she could talk about was her going to the zoo and Regan going to school. It was her first big school fieldtrip. We got to see all of the zoo animals, AND ride the zoo train. How fun!! :) Kennedy was such a big girl that she got to walk most of the time at the zoo. It is always a nice two hour trip.
I didn't get many pictures of the zoo, but just one happy grizzly bear!
A good day with mom and Kennedy!

Carter

Words cannot describe the loss of a child. I want to hold him in my arms daily, and smell him, and hear his noises, hear his first laugh, have him say "mommy". Those are the things that I want to do. Yesterday Nathan made a call to a friend just to say how are you doing, etc. They hung up the phone and the friend called back. He called back just to say that at Carter's funeral he had been dealing with a lot of things. He wanted us to know that because of Carter he had been saved. It is with much sadness that my heart hurts for Carter, but rejoices for our friend. Now I will know that we will all be together in Heaven.

First School Project...Student of the Week

Regan is "Student of the Week" this week. That is quite a big responsibility....you don't even know. :) So, for being student of the week she got to tell a little about herself. Here are somethings that Regan was asked:

Her family-mom, dad, sister, and brother

Favorite foods-spaghetti and mac and cheese

Favorite book-Sleeping Beauty

Favorite things about herself- hands to pray with

Favorite sport- basketball, cheerleading, and surfboarding (who knew?)

She is special because- she loves Jesus

What she wants to be when she grows up- veterinarian

Favorite pets- Gizmo and Lily...we forgot to put the fish on there

It was a fun project. We will have many more to come...I can't wait!! :)

Texas Girls...Round 2

Last weekend some more of my friends and sister from Texas came up. We had a pretty uneventful weekend, which was SO nice!! Just like the weekend before...lots of talking, eating, some shopping, and having a good time. Nathan and Regan even got in on the late night action. And when I say "late night", I mean LATE NIGHT!! Regan was up until 2AM on Friday!! She has just now caught up on her sleep. Thanks Shannon, Paige, Lindsay, and Max (Lindsay's dog) for all the laughs!! Good times! Good times!

New Camera

I got a new "mom" camera that is digital. I am so excited! I just have not figured out how to download pictures to the computer yet. I haven't had time either. So, I am planning on doing that today. So, catch up on the blogging now because I have several posts to make once I get my camera figured out. Yea!! :)

6 Week Check-Up

I know...can you believe it's already been six weeks. I can't. In fact, it makes my heart hurt worse to think about it. I had emailed a friend who is going through a VERY similar experience and I thought I would share with you all what my doctor and I discussed today. First of all I want to say my doctor is so good! I know God put him in my life for his gentle heart. He had actually lost a daughter (adult) 10 years ago. So, he can relate to my pain. We talked a lot about having another baby. He said I was really healthy that I could even have those thoughts and not be scared about it. He told me that in the 25+ years and with residency that he has only seen maybe 10 deaths due to a cord. I felt like I had been hit with a ton of bricks again. My heart just broke. Why my son? I will just never know while I'm here on earth...and then when I get to Heaven it won't matter. So, he told me to wait six months to heal a little more physically and mentally. So, we will start trying again at the end of September/beginning of October. Please pray that we make the right decisions and that this will be a smooth, confident pregnancy...with a GREAT ending!!

I think tomorrow I may attempt to work on Carter's nursery. Please pray for strength for myself and Nathan. I know it will be hard.

While we're on praying, I ask that you pray for the many families (whom we don't even realize) that are going through this. It is crazy because I have two friends who have emailed me that they have a friend who has a friend (I know, confusing) that has lost a child. It doesn't make sense, but surely there is a way to be able to help in some way.

One more prayer request...which I can't believe I'm going to post. When I began college I began as a nursing student. I was 18 and could not discipline myself enough to stay focused in Anatomy/Physiology. So, I dropped out of nursing and changed my major to elementary education. I am so blessed to have gone into that field be4cause I have met some of my best friends. After I had Regan I thought, I'm going to go back to nursing school and work in L & D (labor and delivery). Well, then Kennedy came along...same thoughts...go back to school. Now that I have been through such a horrific experience with Carter, I want to go back even more. I feel that I can be so beneficial for women who are going through the same thing. I had an AMAZING nurse (whom I will get a picture of and post on here soon...Jessica :) ), but she had not been through it on a personal level. There are just a lot of things that God will have to do/provide for this opportunity to happen. Who knows, it may not be now, but years down the road. I don't know. I just ask that you pray for Him to open doors and for me to be aware of the doors He does open.

(Sorry this is a long one.)

The Closet

It seems that the rain has not stopped since March 1st. Ugh!!! As many of you know Regan and Gizmo (the dog) are TERRIFIED of thunder. So, last night I got Kennedy down and Regan and I got in my bed and were watching the news. Nathan was in the midst of changing clothes when the tornado sirens went off. They test the sirens every Wednesday at noon, so I am used to hearing them. So, I really didn't think anything of them when I heard it last night, but then I realized that it was 9:30 at night. This was the real deal!! So, Nathan ran upstairs and brought Kennedy down and Regan and I headed to the closet under the stairs. That was just such a fun experience with two nervous, sleepy children and two dogs who didn't have a clue. We brought the radio in there with some pillows and blankets (Just as my mom had taught us to do all my life...and we did do MANY a time growing up.). So, the sirens went off and on for about two hours. We were okay. Nothing around us was touched. The tornado hit in Benton and Bryant off of Highway 30. There are a lot of downed power lines/trees. There was some damage at a mobile home park and a car dealership (not Nathan's). Other than that I think that everyone is okay. So, thank you for all of the emails and phone calls. We're all good, and we had a fun closet experience. :)
