Big Girl

Since this is a new school for Regan, I asked her if she wanted me to drop her off or walk her in. She said she wanted me to walk her in. I said that was fine, but I was only going to walk her in to the front of the school and then she could go the rest of the way herself (She was the one yesterday who showed me again how to get to her classroom. She has it down, just needed a little reassurance today.). So, I walked her to the front, kissed her, and we discussed which direction she needed to go. And she was off! My first grader!! I can't believe it!!

Well, since Kennedy doesn't start school until 12, I asked her the same thing. Do you want me to drop you off, or take you in. She was very confident, "Drop me off. I can do it!" Really? You're only 4!! My heart broke. I pulled up, put the car in park, reaching for the button to open the door, all the while hearing, "I can do it. Just open it. I can do it." So, I said she had to give me a kiss. She gave me a kiss, I handed her her backpack, and she was out of the car and running for the door. (Notice, there is a teacher that stands at the door to walk them in. I wouldn't just let her wander the whole school by herself.) :)
My babies are growing up!! Can we freeze time?

Happy 4th Birthday, Kennedy!!

On Sunday we had Kennedy's birthday party! She chose to go to "Bowl-A-Rama" (it was really Shenanigans, but she couldn't remember that). It was such a great time! The kiddos got to bowl, have pizza, eat cupcakes, and play games. Since Kennedy had to get 5 shots on her birthday, I told her I would have a surprise for her when I picked her up from school. It was a Cinderella birthday cake that she had wanted (the bowling place provides cupcakes). She was so excited! I asked her what she wanted for dinner and she said steak. So, we went to Saltgrass to celebrate. What a day we all had!! :)

Happy Birthday baby girl! I can't believe it's already been 4 years!!

Mani/Pedi

When CoCo (Nathan's sister) asked Regan what she wanted for her birthday she said she wanted a pedicure. Cobie (a.k.a. CoCo) has a place she goes to get her pedicures. At this salon they have chairs for little girls. Regan had the best time!! I don't have a picture, but her toes are pink with black zebra print. She is ready to go back again. That is good for momma! Now I can just take her a long. **I did ask Kennedy if she wanted me to take her to that salon to get a pedicure and at first she said yes, but as of this morning it was a no. She wants me to do it at home. :(

First Day of School

Today was our first day of school. Regan started 1st grade (gasp!) and Kennedy is in the Pre-K program. They were so excited this morning that they woke up at 6:15!!!! Insane!!! I am quite sure they will crash out here real soon!! I, on the other hand, will be up all night filling out all of the beginning of the year paperwork! Gotta love it!! :)

Regan had to change schools this year because we moved to a new neighborhood. She has been very good about it. The chair that is empty next to hers is for a the only person she knew in her class, and she was out sick. :(The good thing is that her cousin, Ashton is in 1st grade at her new school. This has helped out a lot with the transition. They both look so cute for their first day! :)

You would never know from that sweet little face had to get FIVE shots this morning!! Yes, I said FIVE!!! She couldn't start school without them and they wouldn't let me do them sooner than today, her birthday! They sang Happy Birthday to her today and she got to pick from the treasure box.

Also, Kennedy is in the afternoon Pre-K class, so this throws a whole loop in the nap time. Basically, she is not going to get one. No fun. This is what I will have at the end of the day everyday I'm sure:

And Regan was such a sport to wait out in the heat. (The girls are at two different schools and both get out at 3:00). I am going to be a mad woman every day at 3:00. :)
I am excited for the new school year and so are the girls!!

School Supplies

I always loved going shopping for school supplies, back packs, and school clothes. Well, my life was simplified this year. I got to order school supplies for the girls off line (saved so much time and energy). My mom (a.k.a. Mims) got the girls their back packs and lunch boxes. Then, since their birthday is so close to school starting they got either clothes or money, and Nathan's mom (a.k.a. Nana) took Regan shopping. Even though we didn't have all the "fun" of stressing about not having the right kind of folder or the right type of construction paper, the girls and I enjoyed going through the school supplies (that were shipped to my house) and labeling everything!! It was greatness!!

7 girls + sleepover= CRAZY MOM!!

Regan turned SIX years old last week!! I cannot believe it. She decided that she wanted to have some girls over for swimming and a slumber party. Good times! She designed her invitations and her cake and she chose for them to do a craft.

Regan's design. The AWESOME cake! Angie made it to look just like her drawing!!
They were going strong until 12am when "Crazy Mom" had to step in and go from room to room to keep kiddos quiet so they would calm down. It was so fun to watch her interact with her friends the way she does at school. Such a big girl!! She had a great time with all of her family and friends!!

Last Days of Summer

Since we didn't get to go on vacation this year, I tried to do some fun things with the girls the last week before school started back. The summer has flown by. Crazy!!

One day I took the girls skating. Kennedy has only been one other time and Regan has been a couple. It was quite fun to watch them. Although, Kennedy only lasted in her skates for one time around the skating rink. Regan on the other hand, made it several times around, but it was a long time for one lap. :) She will get it down some day.
Another day we went to the IMAX theatre and saw the movie "Coral Reef". The girls loved every minute of it! They loved how big the screen was and that everything felt like we were right there. After watching the movie, we headed to the exhibit halls to check out all the cool things on exhibit.

Grant's Room (the second one)

If you are a little confused about that title scroll down to the next blog post and it will be explained. :)

Here are some pictures of his (second) new room:

There were some pieces of art work that I saw when I found the bedding. I so wanted those pieces, but they were too expensive knowing that I wanted a Bible verse for his room. So, I decided to paint them myself. :)

Here are the original pictures:

Here are the pictures that I painted:

I do have to say that I am very proud of myself. :)

Rearranging...Nesting...whatever you want to call it

Well, after posting pictures of Grant's room on the blog and the fact that Regan switched rooms, I decided that I wanted some other pieces of furniture in my house rearranged. Lucky for Nathan (and Jacob and Matt). :) So, Regan moved into our "guest bedroom" with the queen sized bed. She LOVES it! She says it's like a "rock star room". She actually sleeps there all night long now!!! So, once that was done I moved Grant's room upstairs to Regan's old room, and moved my computer and treadmill down to Grant's old room. Got it? So, needless to say there was a whole lot of moving going on in our house! I am glad to say that we are not moving any other piece of furniture any time soon. And everything that has been being needed to be hung (pictures, paintings, etc.) is now hung. So, I think I am done nesting....until I get bored and find something else that needs "rearranging". :)

S.O.F.A. Camp

A few weeks ago Regan attended S.O.F.A. (Serving Our Father Artistically) Camp at our church. This is a camp where the kiddos get to do drama, music, dance, and art all while showing their love for Christ and learning how He loves us.

On Friday night of that week they had a performance to show off what they had learned. Regan was a horse from The Little Red Hen. She was so cute. It was such a good time and Regan LOVED it!!
