4 1/2 hours + myself and 3 kids= Houston
This weekend we traveled to Houston. What for? Well, I went to Sam Houston State University, and since it's so close to Houston, a lot of people came from the Houston area. So, I have some great, great, great friends there. One of my friends' little boy had a birthday party. We hadn't been down there in a long time and I hadn't seen my "sisters" in a while, so we went. It was a quick trip, but well worth it!!
It was a super hero party. Here my super heroes. ;)
I love you girls!!

Once Upon A Time...Beauty and the Beast
Once Upon A Time...
Once upon a time there were these two little girls
Who loved to be a part of their mom's theatrical world.
They danced and they pranced across the stage.
Their performances were proclaimed to be all the rage.
They grew up to be big girls in life.
They chose a path with a little less strife.
They still loved the stage and supported their mom,
By coming to see her direct and perform.
Once upon the time there were two little girls
Who loved to be a part of Mims' theatrical world.
They danced and they sang during the auditions for her play.
But that was only once for a day.
The play was directed and rehearsed each day,
But all the little girls could do was wish they could play.
Alas, one day their Mims knew what to do.
Let the little girls be on the stage too!
Belle and the Beast, Regan and Kennedy
Would have such in a world of whimsy,
Costumes and makeup and playtime galore,
Was what Mims had in store!
Welcome to the cast of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!
I look forward to you being a part of the theatrical feast.
They'll dance and they'll sing and prance across stage.
Their performances will be proclaimed to be all the rage!
Merry Christmas!
Love,
Mims
That was a poem my mom wrote the girls for Christmas. Part of their Christmas present was for them to be in my mom's musical Beauty and the Beast. They are so excited about it!! So, today was their first day to practice.
(The show is February 3rd, 4th, 5th at 7:30 and 6th at 2. If you want to tickets let me know and we'll work it out.)

At the "Big" Table
Grant keeps fussing every time I sit down to eat. He is in his highchair right next to the breakfast table. So, I was tired of the fussing so I tried something different. I put him in his highchair booster seat at the "big" table. He was so proud of himself (hence the smile).
I told him to say cheese and he puts his hand on his face and smiles so big. I just love him!

Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students)
Nathan is the Watch D.O.G.S. at the girls' school today. They are so excited about it. They have been asking when the day was since we signed up in August. What does a Watch DOGS do? Nathan will get to spend some time in each of the girls' classes, walk to perimeter of the school, walk the halls, go in to other classrooms. Today he go to go in P.E. where they were playing dodgeball...right up his alley. He got to eat lunch with them, and harass the kids in Regan's class that he knows. They are loving it!!

Ouch!!
Sunday night Nathan and Kennedy were in her room picking out clothes for school on Monday. I went to put Grant down and I heard a horrific scream. I thought, "What in the world did Kennedy do to get in trouble right before bed?" I opened the door and she was laying on the floor screaming. Nathan was saying, "Don't move! Don't move!" He was looking in her sleeve, so I thought. I said, "What is wrong?" He said, "She broke her arm!" So, I dart out of the room get Regan she runs across the street to the neighbor. The neighbor comes over. I call my mother-in-law to get her to come over to watch Regan and Grant. We load up and head to the ER. Kennedy had stood on the footboard of her bed and was jumping off onto Nathan's back. Well, she overshot and cleared Nathan's back and landed on the floor.
We got to the ER and they took x-rays. You have two bones in your forearm--the ulna and radius. Her ulna broke. We didn't know until the follow up that when the ulna broke it dislocated the radial bone into the elbow.
So, yesterday we headed back to the hospital. They had to sedate Kennedy while they put her arm bones back in place.

It was a very emotional day for ALL of us. I pray that we never experience another broken bone again!!
(Sorry the pictures are sideways. I tried fixing it, but it didn't work.)
