Where do I begin?

How about from where I left off!

Well, I finished my A & P II (anatomy and physiology) class with an A. Yea!! I have now officially applied for nursing school. I will know by the middle of April if I am in or not. If I am, I will start in August! :)

Christmas was a great and emotional time for us. Crazy because I was thinking that this Christmas would not be as hard as our first without Carter, but was I wrong. I think I had so much more anger. (That's a whole other blog.) It was great though to celebrate it with our new sweet addition, Grant, but still a lot of mixed emotions. The girls got a bike, a skateboard, games for the Nintendo DS, and that doesn't even cover what all the grandparents gave!!! :)Then we rang in the new year with family and friends. There were 10, yes T-E-N, children in my house. All whom were upstairs playing. While they were carrying on Grant was sound asleep. He slept through all of the loudness. Once everyone left (around 1:30) he decided to make a new year appearance, only to take a bottle and go back to bed. :)

Before school started back the girls wanted to have a tea party. So, we did just that. They set everything up. You'll love the menu for the tea party! :)

(Menu: M&Ms, bananas, popcorn, apple, and apple juice to drink.)t being loose and her playing with it) came out. She was so scared for it to come out she wouldn't let anyone near it!! When she finally pulled it, she said, that didn't even hurt!! She wrapped it in a box and put a bow on it. The tooth fairy left her a $10 bill with her name in sparkle letters. That tooth fairy sure has raised the price of a tooth. Crazy!!!
Kennedy had a pancake and pajamas day at school. I went and helped serve pancakes. I love being able to do things like that for the girls!! Kennedy was also the student of the week in January. We put together a wonderful poster that told all about her!! At the beginning of February we had a baby dedication for Grant. It was so neat. We got to film a little quick video of just something we wanted to tell him. And then we picked a verse for him. I chose the one that I have in his room. It's Matthew 5:16-Let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven. I just think that is such an amazing verse!!That same day Regan had her Penguin Parade. They had been researching penguins for the last few weeks. They made a power point and did lots of great activities for/about penguins. On the last day all they 1st grade classes dressed as the penguin they researched and marched through the halls of the school. It was so neat!! Snow, snow, and more snow. We had lots of fun in the snow: making a snow man, making snow angels, throwing snow balls, sledding down the hills, getting in the hot tub while it's snowing and making snow cones out of the ice on the side of the pool. (That was Nathan and Regan.) :)

Because of all the snow they canceled school that Friday, the day that the girls' Valentine parties were supposed to take place. So, they got rescheduled for the next week. Regan had an ice cream Sunday valentine party. Kennedy had a "sock-hop" Valentine party. She was the only one that could hoola hoop! She is VERY good at it! She can go for several minutes. Now, she can even hoola hoop with two hoola hoops!! Now, I am in the midst of studying (or trying to with the rest of life going on) for Microbiology! I will be glad to get a C. Not setting my expectations very hi, you think? Yes, I am. It's a HARD class....so much information!!!

I will try (maybe in my sleep) to keep the blog updated. Haven't I said that before?!? :)

After having my computer for seven good years, it is finally in its last stages of life. :( Hence the reason I have not been blogging. I will try to blog sometime this week and catch everyone up on what all is going on with us. So, check back toward the end of the week for the latest Purnell updates. :)

My Reindeer

We had our first Christmas (of many) at Nathan's aunt's house this weekend. They decorated cookies, played, opened presents, and got to wear some cool reindeer antlers.

Christmas Fun!!!

A couple of Saturdays ago, Nana (Nathan's mom) took the girls to get their Christmas presents. She took them to the American Girl store. If you have a daughter, I recommend you going. It was so cool! Overwhelming, but sooooo cool!! The girls got to pick out a doll for Nana to take home and wrap for Christmas. Regan picked out Felicity. Kennedy's doll that she wanted was retired (Samantha), so she picked out a baby. Then, we headed off for lunch at the Olive Garden. It was a great day with the girls (and little man). :) Friday was the girls last day of school before the Christmas break. They celebrated the day with "Holiday" Parties. Here are just a few pictures of the great time that each of them had.

Kennedy's class did a book exchange. Kennedy ended up with "If You Take a Mouse to the Movies". (For all of you reading this saying that the title needs to be underlined instead of in quotes, I know this. I don't have that option on this screen.) Kennedy decorating her gingerbread house. She ate more candy than she put on the house. :)After all of the fun holiday parties at school we headed off to go to the Gaylord to see the Grinch Ice Sculptor. After the 3 hour trip, that should have only been 45 minutes, we paid an arm and a leg to get the girls in to see the Grinch and then go look at the sculptors. They had a blast.

The drive home only took 30-40 minutes. Go figure!!

What have we been up to?

Well, that's a good question...or shall I say, what haven't we been up to? :) At the beginning of November Kennedy had their school's annual fundraiser, The Husky Fun Run! The girls, my niece, and Mims, Nana, and myself walked in the fun run. (Mims was taking the picture)I have been working on finishing up my classes (A&P II and Microcomputer Applications-fancy word for computer class). I think I will have an A for both classes. I have filled out my nursing application. I just have to wait on my transcript from this semester to send it in. (Everyone take a minute right now and say a prayer for me to be accepted this year [August 2010 start date] if it's God's will).

Kennedy had her Thanksgiving feast. The kids were so cute! Some dressed up like pilgrims and others were Indians. They were precious!! They came into the room singing a cute song! I just wanted to eat them up! :)

While Regan didn't get to have a Thanksgiving feast, they did study about this holiday. She made a totum pole. We used the totum pole and Kennedy's Indian headdress as our Thanksgiving centerpieces.

Nana's work had a huge Christmas party. She invited us all up there to visit Santa. (I really think it was to show off her beautiful granchildren.) :) Debbie's picture is the best...Grant's eyes are actually open and all the kids are looking at the camera. Yesterday we went for Grant's 2 month check up! TWO months already! Time does fly! He is smiling A LOT, which I just love! His birth weight was 6lbs. 14oz. and he was 20 inches long. Now he weights 10 1/2 pounds and is 23 inches long. Yay! I have a growing boy! His little thighs are getting thick like muscle thick. His hair is turning more strawberry blond, which I LOVE, and his eyes are getting lighter and lighter blue. I think they will stay blue because of that. (I hope so anyway.) I will probably have to beat the girls away with a stick....unless his big sisters get to them first! :)And last, but not least, I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year! I pray that 2010 is such a blessed year of prosperity, health, peace, joy, and love!

Life With Three

I love every minute of it!! It is sometimes stressful, but for the most part I am enjoying it more than I ever have. I realize that we are truly blessed to be able to have these three healthy children. I am finding a way to juggle school, homework, laundry, being a mom, etc. It is a juggle to say the least, but we are adjusting. :)

This blog I am going to play catch up. I have not blogged since he got here, and that was a short one. We have been out and about doing all kinds of things. People say, "You're so good (to get out)." I say, no, I'm just really stupid, but have no choice. Ha! :) So, here we go:

The week after we brought Grant home my mom and Nathan's mom took the girls to see Mary Poppins the musical. They absolutely LOVED it!! They took their umbrellas that Mims brought them from New York. It was a very special treat to get to go. :)

That Friday night we had our annual Sunday School Halloween party. There was a bonfire, hayride, pumpkin decorating, making candy apples, and lots of food!! It was quite a good time!! Then, the next week Kennedy had her very first school field trip. I was not able to chaperon (due to the fact of Grant :)), but I did meet them at the pumpkin patch. This year the pumpkin patch had a maze, they got to pick a pumpkin, there was a story teller, a "pumpkin theatre", and snacks. Our church does an annual Family Fall Festival. We have been going ever since the girls were little, little. :) So, we got Nathan's sister Cobie and we headed off. I say every year that we should skip the Texas State Fair, save our money, and just go ride the rides (which are the State Fair rides) for $5. :) Maybe next year. They even have State Fair food out there. How good is that for $5?!?!? School Fundraiser...enough said!! :) Every year Regan's school have one annual fundraiser. It is their Walk-A-Thon. It is so neat. They open the morning with a parade. The high school drum line came and so did some of the drill team. It was so cool. Then, after the parade they do a school-wide picture. Then, throughout the day there are many activities (walk, games, talks about nutrition and exercise, lunch in the hallway!!) :) It was so fun!!

Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggidy dog!!! :) That is what I will always sing in my head every time I think about this Halloween. We went trick-or-treating around our neighborhood, and then all of our family came over and hung out. It was quite fun. Regan was an angel, Kennedy was Snow White, and Grant was a hot dog. They were all so precious. (Grant only lasted in his costume long enough for me to take a picture.) Good times!!
